What is a core charge?
A core charge is a refundable fee charged on certain parts, common across all automotive brands. The core charge you pay when buying a part will be refunded when you send back the old part you're replacing. For example, if you buy a turbocharger for $1,000 with a $400 core charge, you will pay $1,400 upfront. When you return the old turbo, you'll be credited the $400 core charge, making your net payment $1,000. This system incentivizes returning old parts, which helps manufacturers remanufacture and sell them again, offering you a less expensive alternative to new parts.

How do I return my core?
Returning your core is beneficial for both you and the environment. If your item has a core charge, you can ship it back to the vendor using any carrier at your expense. First, you need to 'Return a core' via your Returns page under My Account. Once the core is received, you will be refunded the core charge.
